Holy Roar – Album Review and Giveaway

Surely goodness, love and mercy will follow wherever I go. Chris Tomlin released his latest album Holy Roar last week and put it simply I love it. Goodness, love, and mercy are a reoccurring theme throughout the tracks. Three things we all could use more of in this world. Holy Roar already has a couple tracks on the radio and there are a few more I think could definitely be the next hit either on the radio or to hear live at his upcoming tour.  Holy Roar’s album theme is the freedom, the experience, the wonder of worship. It is seeing the church come together, hands lifted to God, pouring out our praise with an eternal song in our hearts. It’s every voice together, changing the way we worship. Personally I cannot wait to experience this type of worship first hand at Chris Tomlin’s upcoming tour which currently there are no tour dates in my city but hopefully, one will get added as there are stops nearby. Until then I look forward to being able to worship wherever I am listening to any or every track of Holy Roar. I had the opportunity to see Chris a few years back live in concert and have been a fan for many many years. His latest album is no exception. From the title track Holy Roar, he sets our hearts and ears ready for worship and praise. Nobody Loves Me Like Jesus is a track that becomes our worship cry, especially in a time like this where […]

On the Edge of Darkness, Just be Held

As a husband, there are certain roles that you assume. Provider, comforter, healer, leader, I could go on and on. We believe we are to hold it all together no matter what. Then comes that moment in time, where the sands slip through our fingers, and we begin to lose our grip. Fear and anxiety that we put our parents through as kids become a reality in that moment, as we lose control. Whether it is a spouse or child, you can be brought to your knees in an instant. One moment you are complacently going through your daily routines. Suddenly your life is turned upside down, and you are rocked to your core, no longer having control. My wife and I have not been blessed with children. I witnessed the stripping of all my power as illness took over her life. In a moment we went from our daily routines to feeling like we were barely breathing. Days and nights blended as I remained at her bedside. Every needle and pill she experienced pierced my helpless heart. I painstakingly watched as the doctors treated my wife more like a number than a person. All dignity and humanity were taken away as they tirelessly tried to find a label or condition to put on her. Our home was empty in […]
