Harvest is Plenty – theVine.co
Last weekend we helped build a school, what did you do?
On Valentine’s Day while many were waiting hours to eat an over priced dinner. My bride and I spent the evening with fellow Christians that wanted to do more. The 2nd annual Valentine’s Day Gala by theVine.co was a night to remember.
The sole purpose of theVine.co is to raise money for their Mission and Outreach work locally and around the world. It is events like the Gala that make all their hard work possible. Last year enough was raised to buy a plot of land in Haiti. This year they raised funds to build a school and orphanage on that land.
At the Gala, we were greeted by rose bearing kids. One of whom is from Haiti. There were numerous generous gifts donated by local companies. These items were being raffled off as well as silent auction items. All the proceeds were going to theVine.co building of the school and orphanage.
Dinner was served with in several courses. Started off with bruschetta followed by a salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette. The main courses were composed of either fish, chicken or steak. I opted for the steak, my wife the chicken. Both paired with mixed vegetables and potatoes. Desert was mini cupcakes and chocolate covered strawberries.
Towards the end of the meal, after Austin Adamec finished his musical set. Our emcee, local radio host Theresa from the Promise introduced our guest speaker. Many people know him as Javier (aka snake eyes) from the movie Courageous. He also starred in Mom’s Night Out. The one and only Robert Amaya.
Robert is just as entertaining in person as on the big screen. He did however get his preach on a bit this evening which was just as enjoyable. He spoke with passion and words of encouragement. He did not pull any punches and addressed some real issues within not only the church but our lives. The focused topic was the differences in love, and how God is real Love.
And hope does not disappoint us.
because God has poured out His Love
into our hearts by the Holy Spirit
whom He has given us.
After Robert’s words of encouragement, Rick the founder and habitual crier of theVine.co got up to speak. He shared a video of Haiti and the things that theVine.co was doing. We were then introduced to a young man from Haiti who shared his testimony of how through the love and caring of theVine.co his life has been changed forever.
After an evening of fine dining, music, preaching and funny pictures. How does one recover? Many times people go to charity events, donate a little and forget about them until next time. When you attend an event put on by Rick and his wife Samantha at theVine.co, you are changed. They share their hearts, show their love and all they want in return is the same.
If you are looking to team up with a nonprofit that is truly spreading the gospel through their actions. I would recommend checking out theVine.co. Whether you have a group that would like to go on a mission trip. Maybe you are a local Christian business that wants to support like-minded mission work. Take a few moments and check out theVine.co for upcoming events like the HUGE Church-wide Yard Sale Saturday March 7th to benefit upcoming high-impact mission trips to Nicaragua, Haiti, and Guatemala. The Harvest is Plenty but the workers are few.
Blessings,
CJ

There are some amazing things happening, none of which can be done without God’s grace and his servants in those places. Thank you for stopping by and sharing,
Wow, that is a great way to spend Valentine’s Day and to give back.
Definitely, think it will become a annual tradition rather than giving to Hallmark and FTD 🙂 Thanks for your comments!
What a great event! How inspiring.
It is amazing the events you can find for a cause with a little research! Thanks for commenting!
