America is still beautiful
The first presidential election debate has concluded. Many people tuned in to watch the circus this election has become.
I worked during the debate, did not see but about 5 minutes of it. That was plenty, and my heart is happier this byear not enduring more than that.
Facebook feeds are full of hate speech, morphed photoshops of what a Hillary/Trump baby may look like. Memes making light of hair, looks and the lies each of them may or may not have told.
My heart has become weary with not only the candidates but those that believe one of them will either fix or ruin America.
We were founded on Godly principles. Even though many are forgotten and others we are not allowed to share. God himself has not forsaken America in our ignorant blindness.
This is still the country of dreams. Every day people change their lives for the better. They have the freedoms that are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
All the ruckus over hacked emails, racial tensions, or borders it will all fade away. After the election no matter who wins. It is then that we must accept our fate.
When the executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years. At the end of which we will have the opportunity to choose hopefully more wisely on out candidates.
All the while, I will respect the office of the President, no matter which candidate slips past our good judgment.
It is in my King not the President that I give my life and devote my loyalty. Presidents will come and go, but one truth remains self-evident. My Lord and Savior sits on God’s right hand. He is the King of kings, the Alpha and the Omega. No real estate, reality TV mogul or political hack will ever hold a light in His shadow.
I beseech you to vote with your conscience.
Time and time again we see that elections matter and votes count. But when you are done and all the numbers are tallied. We will have a new President of these United States, but we will always have one true king.
America will still be beautiful and eventually she too will heal. The hate speech will subside, and we will be left likely no better or worse than before.
Friends and family are not worth dividing over an election. In the scheme of things and the fate of our country, althought important the election does not really matter. Especially when you know who really makes America beautiful.

I watched the debates because my middle school daughter was told it was a good idea. Next time, I will not watch the debates.
It used to be that debates were considered a lesson in current events. The most recent one is a sad example of the state of our political affairs. Perhaps teachers should use a little better discretion considering the candidates. 🙂
