Holy Roar – Album Review and Giveaway

Surely goodness, love and mercy will follow wherever I go. Chris Tomlin released his latest album Holy Roar last week and put it simply I love it. Goodness, love, and mercy are a reoccurring theme throughout the tracks. Three things we all could use more of in this world. Holy Roar already has a couple tracks on the radio and there are a few more I think could definitely be the next hit either on the radio or to hear live at his upcoming tour.  Holy Roar’s album theme is the freedom, the experience, the wonder of worship. It is seeing the church come together, hands lifted to God, pouring out our praise with an eternal song in our hearts. It’s every voice together, changing the way we worship. Personally I cannot wait to experience this type of worship first hand at Chris Tomlin’s upcoming tour which currently there are no tour dates in my city but hopefully, one will get added as there are stops nearby. Until then I look forward to being able to worship wherever I am listening to any or every track of Holy Roar. I had the opportunity to see Chris a few years back live in concert and have been a fan for many many years. His latest album is no exception. From the title track Holy Roar, he sets our hearts and ears ready for worship and praise. Nobody Loves Me Like Jesus is a track that becomes our worship cry, especially in a time like this where […]

Unbroken: Path to Redemption (Review and Giveaway)

Everyone knows the movie Unbroken about Louis Zamperini’s that came out in based on the book by Laura Hillenbrand. If you only saw the movie, you may not know is there is more to his story, Unbroken: Path to Redemption is a look at what happened next. On September 14th, UNBROKEN: PATH TO REDEMPTION by Pure Flix films hits the big screen. I was blessed with the opportunity to not only watch the movie early but also give away Fandango movie passes for some of my readers to get to see it for free between now and Oct 14th or until UNBROKEN: PATH TO REDEMPTION is no longer in theaters whichever happens first. Honestly, I was not sure what to expect from a follow up film to one that was so epic in the lives it impacted as Unbroken. I will say (without giving too much away), that this film can stand on it’s own merits. Even for those that somehow missed the first film, they will be able to dive right into where the film picks up. By the end of the film will likely want to see the first one if they had not yet. Those that saw the first installment of Unbroken, know that this is a different chapter in Louis’ life that might catch some by surprise. The battles and demons that he fought as a POW carried over to when he is home. During his time of fame and what should have been the best years of his life, he […]

Giveaway $25 Family Christian Gift Card (Review)

Ever want to brighten your day, I would say visit your local Family Christian store. I have been a patron of Family Christian stores ever since my wife introduced me to them over a decade ago. Since then it has become a traditional store for us to visit. Usually around Christmas time as well as when there is a birthday or other celebration coming up. One thing that I have noticed about any Family Christian Store I have been in, it’s the people. My latest trip to my local store this past week was no exception. Driving out there on my lunch break, in hopes that I would be able to get in and out quickly. I was greeted by the assistant manager, Patricia with a smile and words of blessings. Only after the cheerful greeting did she offer assistance. Unlike many retail stores, you could tell her spirit and heart truly meant the words she shared. After declining her generous offer to help, I proceeded to peruse around the store. There was a buy one get one 50% off Sale going on that peaked my interest. With brick and mortar stores these days, without an appealing sale, people are inclined to stay at home and order off the web. I wandered around the store and before I knew it I had been there over thirty minutes. Still with no purchase in hand. It was not for not finding one; it was from finding so many and having to decide. Finally, I chose two books by Stan Toler that I […]
