7 Ways of Being a Christian Leader

Christians are thought of as followers not leaders that many times hide in the shadows. Today there seems to be a great deal of focus on leadership and  Christianity. Preachers like  Derwin Gray, Andy Stanley and even the great Billy Graham they all have a similar message.  Regardless whether they are preaching from the pulpit or at a conference, they all focus on the need for leaders. The church and Christianity as a whole are under attack and needs leaders to step up and fight.  There is a problem though even though we as Christians are natural leaders, many would rather sit in the pews praying for change.  We can no longer stand by and let our faith be silenced. You were made for more than this, you were born to be a  leader and here is how I know. 1.) Jesus led his Disciples who in turn led the Church – We were destined to lead as followers of Christ it is our birthright.  Priests and Preachers cannot do this alone they want and need the support of the Church.  Everyone remembers the WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) that we wore on our bracelets and clothes.. now it is time to answered that question. 2.) We are the Hands and Feet : In order to spread the gospel and be the Christians we claim to be we must be the hands and feet of the Church.  By being the hands and feet we lead other to Christ through our daily words and actions. 3.) Steps to Unleashing the Warrior (Part 2)

My personal journey of becoming a warrior continues with more Steps to Unleashing the Warrior .On day two the Promise Keepers Unleashing the Warrior event began with a similar bang as had the night before. Only this time the men were even more ready to freely give themselves to the spirit and there was a different level of energy and comradery in the room. The first speaker of the day was Bruce Wilkinson,  who has written more than 60 books that have been translated into 30 languages, including several books that reached the number one spot on the bestseller lists of The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. Bruce’s breakout book, The Prayer of Jabez: Breaking Through to the Blessed Life , remains the fastest-selling book in history, with worldwide sales exceeding 20 million. He started the day out on a subject that every man avoids like the plague… purity.  He spoke of failings of men who succumb to the dark abyss of pornography.  He challenged the men in the audience who were addicted to porn to imagine themselves looking at their mother rather than the girl on the screen, many of which are victims of sex trafficking. Better yet imagine Jesus seeing through your eyes all that you see. Wilkinson also told the men that were living in sin with a woman who are unwed to go home and move out…today.   If they were addicted to pornography…quit…today. Whatever your weakness or addiction…quit…today.  The only way to become a warrior they would need to be released from the sin that […]

We Are All Fishers of Men

We were all made to be fishers not only of the sea but fishers of men, we are set to cast our nets and pull in our brothers that have gotten lost at sea. We sit in the pews of our church’s looking for redemption, salvation and something to believe in. We are filled by the Holy Spirit and are on fire as we sing our praises to change the world.  As soon as service ends we rush  back out into the world and our fire passes as an adrenaline rush and we become numb. We sink back into our routines of yard work, school work, getting prepared for the work week, NASCAR or football on TV, whatever is on tap for our Sunday afternoon.   Our families are the only things we tend to pray for when we bend our knees that night in preparation of the new week.  Within hours the fire that was inside us has dulled to a mere glimmer, a spark to stoke just to keep lit until next Sunday. As men we were made for more than just being pew sitters on Sunday and then to cover up our faith with our ties and suits the rest of the week.   We tend to find that when we are around our co-workers, neighbors and friends
